Biography

Patricia Buckley is a theater performer, director, writer, and educator.

Her New York credits include work with The Actor’s Shakespeare Company, New York Theatre Workshop, The Women’s Interart Development Series, The Atlantic Theatre, The Clurman, Westbeth and Ohio Theatres. Film and television appearances include Law & Order (NBC), Death of A President (Film 4/Channel 4) and Kabluey (Sony/Whitewater).

Regionally, Ms. Buckley has collaborated with the Minneapolis company Theatre de la Jeune Lune and has performed at the Portland Stage Company (ME), Portland Center Stage (OR), Coconut Grove Theatre (FL), The Walnut Street Theatre (PA), LaJolla Playhouse and The Berkshire Theatre Festival.

She is a founding member of the award-winning performance trio Gams On The Lam whose original blend of theater, dance, clowning and satire was performed in the US, Europe, Canada and Latin America.

Regional directing credits include Syracuse Stages Children’s Theatre Tour of The Mischief Makers, Mary Purdy’s Purdy Woman (2001 Piccolo Spoleto Festival), Harrington and Kauffman’s Hotel California (Westbeth Theater Center, Canadian and New York Fringe Festivals and 2001 US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen), Chelsea Bacon’s Breaker: An Aerial Fairy Tale (Dixon Place) and Hilary Chaplain’s A Life in Her Day (NY Fringe Festival, various international festivals).

Ms. Buckley has been a guest instructor at Brandeis University, Hamilton, Union, LeMoyne and Muhlenberg Colleges and a Teaching Artist with the New York State Aesthetic Education Institute.

Her solo play, Evolution, was created with support from the Women’s Interart Development Series in New York City, and has been seen as part of guest artist series at LeMoyne and Gettysburg Colleges and received additional readings and workshops at The Berkshire Theatre Festival, Muhlenberg College, Six Figures Theatre Company and The Franklin Stage Company. Based on the script, Ms. Buckley was an alternate for The Public Theatre’s Emerging Artist Program.
